Studio Work

DRAWING IS ALSO A AWAY OF THINKING
SPATIAL IDEAS

This was my first concept which I strongly thought was a great idea, given it had a flow and to it and the concept it was derived from came from the shape of a shell. The shape has an organic flow/movement within the frame and directs where and how the public should move within the structure.

LAYOUT AND SPATIAL FEEL-1st CONCEPT

This adds to the previous drawing of using three spaces and incorporating it within the circular structure, however once I went to the technology and how to assemble it using simple junctions and ease for those who are to construct it- this shape proved to be rather difficult.
2nd DESIGN CONCEPT

After the circular design proved to be difficult I moved onto a modular structure, still incorporating the 3 spaces it now reflected a hosting artists hub, an outdoor gallery and a workshop/studio space. Unfortunately it had no strong concept /depth to it so back to the drawing board I went.

CONCEPT-VISUAL THEME

This is where I started off with the 3 spaces and manipulated it to fit with the theme and try and create a concept –something which I’ve been struggling with from the very begging. Also tried to understand how the technology would come into play and shift the moulding of the structure-which it did tremendously.
DEVELOPMENT OF IDEA

This shows the development of my ideas and how I would always play with the shape before going further with the design process…
