Week 13 (6-10 June)

Went on site to the magistrates court in Khayelitsha-where a man in his orange suit, feet tied to chains went  walking past me down the corridor amongst 2 guards on his way to his trial-was quite dramatic and eerie at the same time!!!

I stood and witnessed the complexities of going on site, so many different things that have been changed-due to the workers workmanship –so choosing your builders is a decision that should be well thought out as well as working with good flow of communication, because MANY things could get lost through the ‘broken telephone’/lack of communication!!!

What has happened with the KMC project is that since it’s still in use with the public and its colleagues; work that has been done has been damaged through the daily motion of the people. So when checking up on the rooms, your heart sinks to the floor, because either you have to redo it which wastes time and money or you leave it which doesn’t leave a good impression on the company when you eventually have to leave the ‘site’…because then the question would remain what have they actually done?
